In addition to the Sunday School curriculum for elementary age children, LCIF holds regular Adult Education classes focused on Bible study or topics of current interest. In the recent past, the adult group has studied Harold Kushner’s “Why Bad Things Happen to Good People,” and N.T. Wright’s “Simply Jesus” and “Surprised by Hope.”
During year 2015, which marked the 500 th anniversary of the Reformation, our adult group studied biographies of both Martin Luther and his remarkable spouse, Katie Luther. We currently host a combined Bible study and book study for the community on the topic of “Faith and Reason.”
Our women hold twice monthly Bible study sessions, taken primarily from the Women of the ELCA publication, Gather. Finally, on the lighter side, our LCIF Book Club meets monthly to choose a book – fiction, non-fiction, biography, or devotional – of current interest for the members to read and discuss.
