Parish Nurse Elsie Ford, BSN, RN
Elise Ford, BSN, RN is the new (Winter 2008) half-time parish nurse for LHMF and our congregation. You may contact Elsie at 818-209-9535 or by e-mail.
Elsie grew up in Winston-Salem, NC and has lived in ten different states, most recently in Ohio. She earned an Associate Degree in Nursing at Riverside (CA) Community College, and a B.S. in Nursing at the University of Kansas. She has worked in a variety of settings, including an inpatient medical-surgical unit, a family practice group, a dialysis unit , and an allergy practice. Elsie's husband of 40 years is an ELCA pastor. They have two children and one grandchild. In her spare time, Elsie enjoys sewing, quilting, gardening, and playing with the grandbaby. She brings a wealth of nursing experience and a strong faith in God to her ministry.
Lutheran Health Ministries of the Foothills
| LHMF is
our cooperative health ministry shared among and supported by the
ELCA congregations in Glendale and La Cañada, with administrative
support from Solheim Lutheran Home in Eagle Rock. Parish
Nurse Elsie Ford staffs this ministry half-time and is on
call for the congregations and their members. LHMF provides health promotion activities including health fairs, blood drives, blood pressure screening, health education events, and immunization clinics, resources and health-related referrals for the churches. The Older Adult Health Ministry is a particular focus. |
